Beauty Buys #1

There are a few beauty products which I have had my eye on for a while and I decided to take the plunge and purchase a few of them recently; I have had a week or two to try these products out and so I've been able to form an opinion on most of them. Here's an overview of my purchases:
I will start with the essie nail polishes; these have been cropping up more and more frequently on British girls' blogs and youtubes as they have become readily available in boots and superdrug. I've had my eye on essie nail polishes for a long time but now they are so easy to get a hold of I had no excuse not to get my hands on some!  They were on 3-for-2 at superdrug and so I decided to go all out and buy six; not the best for my bank balance I know! So far I have tried cute as a button on my toenails and tart deco, lilacism and fiji on my fingernails. I love the consistency and the shades are spot on; as a nail polish addict I have high standards but I know that these shades are going be a constant feature on my nails this Summer!

Next to the MAC products. I have been contemplating buying 'Well Dressed' blush for a long time; there is so much hype surrounding this product from bloggers and youtubers and I finally decided that it was time to get my hands on it. To be honest, I haven't really formed an opinion on it yet, I wore it a couple of days ago on a night out but I think it's more of an everyday blush colour; so i'm excited to try it out more and I'll get back to you on what I think of it!
'Club' eyeshadow was a somewhat random purchase for me; a girl called Harriet raves about it a lot on her youtube and blog as the perfect smoky-eye colour and she sold me on it! Its an almost duo-chrome olive/brown colour with a satin finish and really does have a dimensional effect on the eyes. Like the blush, I still need to try it out more though.
My final MAC purchase was the lipstick from the shop mac cook mac collection in the shade 'Watch Me Simmer'; this was the product I was most excited to get my hands on; described as a 'bright pink orange' by Mac, I would say that on the lips it appears as a pink-coral colour; from a similar family to costa chic, although I prefer the amplified finish of watch me simmer to the frost of costa chic.
Lastly, I decided to jump on the bandwagon, so to speak, with a couple of items. Recently my skin has been playing up despite minimal changes to my skincare or makeup routine; this has been incredibly frustrating but to be honest it is a problem I am familiar with; I decided to purchase the Bioderma cleanser after hearing glowing reviews about it. I had high hopes for this product and to be honest I was a little disappointed, as is often the way when you pin your hopes on a particular product; lets just say it is no miracle worker. I think I might have to do a separate post on it though because I have a lot more to say about it and I don't want this post to drag on.
I also decided that it was about time that I tried out the Real Techniques brushes which, unless you have been living under a rock for the past year, I am sure you have heard about. I purchased the core collection and you can tell from the pictures (which I apologise for) that I have used them a few times. I've been using the buffing brush for foundation and so far I am pretty impressed, but again, I think they deserve a separate post and despite countless blog posts about them I would like to be able to give my two cents on them!
I hope you've enjoyed my rather long second post about the beauty products I've been purchasing recently, any feedback you have would be much appreciated and I will be back in a couple of days with a new post.

Wishlist #1

I thought I would share a few bits that I have been lusting after of late. I've found myself countless times browsing the internet for summer clothes, probably my way of compensating for the awful weather we have been experiencing in London for the past week. You will probably see a few posts like this in the coming weeks as I search for the perfect pieces to fill my Summer wardrobe!
The bralet is from Topshop and would be the perfect piece to team with a chiffon skirt or some high waisted shorts, the embellishment on the back is gorgeous too so definitely check it out on the website!
The skull bracelet is from this ebay seller and features two of my favourite things; skulls and pastels; these will definitely be recurring themes over the next few months.
The mint suede heels are of course the infamous Jeffery Campbell litas, a feature on every fashion girls' wishlist and I am no exception; these mint ones particularly appeal to me due to the pastel shade; not easy to obtain though and quite an investment, I would rather not buy knock-offs but I may be forced to unless my bank balance miraculously increases!
The beaded ombre shorts tick the box on more than one Summer trend and could be paired with so many different combinations of outfits; Topshop have fulfilled my vision of the perfect care-free yet on trend piece with these shorts, though they too would be an investment and I may have to wait until the sales!
Let me know what you think of these pieces and what's on your wishlist for this Summer.
